Twins edge Rays by 2

The Minnesota Twins edged the Tampa Bay Rays yesterday at Tropicana Field with the Twins securing the victory 8 to 6. It was a great baseball game that fans with Twins tickets will remember for quite some time. There’s not much better than a baseball game so get your MLB tickets before its too late.

Twins pitcher Matt Capps (2.70 ERA) got the win, while Joaquin Benoit (1.14 ERA) took the loss for the Rays. Kevin Slowey went 7.2 solid innings for the Twins, allowed 4 hits, one home run and 4 earned runs with one walk and 9 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Twins was Jesse Crain (3.18), and Ron Mahay (3.66). The Rays’s starter Wade Davis went 6 innings, allowed 10 hits, one home run and 6 earned runs with one walk and 2 strikeouts. Randy Choate (5.40) also pitched for the Rays. With the win, Capps’s record goes to 4-3, while Benoit drops to 0-1.

In addition to the 8 runs, the Twins put up 15 hits and committed 2 errors. J.J. Hardy led the Twins in hitting with 3 hits, followed by Michael Cuddyer’s 2 hits, and Jason Kubel with 2. Delmon Young had a tough day at the plate, leaving 4 runners on base. The Rays’s Jason Bartlett had quite a day at the plate, batting in a stunning 4 runs! The Rays didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. The Rays got 6 runs, 5 hits and no errors.

Umpiring duties were performed by Chris Guccione, Brian O’Nora, Jerry Crawford and Phil Cuzzi. There were 29,210 Rays ticket holders in attendance at Tropicana Field.
