Blue Jays pitcher Brandon Morrow (4.45 ERA) got the win, while Andy Sonnanstine (3.98 ERA) took the loss for the Rays. Brandon Morrow went 9 solid innings for the Blue Jays, allowed one hit, no home runs and no earned runs with 2 walks and 17 strikeouts. The Rays’s starter Andy Sonnanstine went 5.1 innings, allowed 3 hits, no home runs and one earned run with 3 walks and one strikeout. Randy Choate (5.10), Dan Wheeler (2.70), and Lance Cormier (4.24) also pitched for the Rays. With the win, Morrow’s record goes to 9-6, while Sonnanstine drops to 2-1.
In addition to the one run, the Blue Jays put up 5 hits and committed one error. It wasn’t a huge day for anyone at the plate for the Blue Jays, as nobody managed more than 2 hits.
