Orioles thrashed by Rays 8-1

The Tampa Bay Rays vaporized the Baltimore Orioles yesterday at Oriole Park at Camden Yards with the Rays picking up the W 8 to 1. It was one heck of a game that folks with Rays tickets aren’t likely to forget. Baseball isn’t the only game in town. See what other sporting event tickets are out there.

Rays pitcher Wade Davis (4.41 ERA) got the win, while Chris Tillman (7.92 ERA) took the loss for the Orioles. Wade Davis went 8 solid innings for the Rays, allowed 7 hits, no home runs and one earned run with one walk and 3 strikeouts. Also pitching for the Rays was Dan Wheeler (3.03). The Orioles’s starter Chris Tillman went 2.2 innings, allowed 7 hits, no home runs and 8 earned runs with 4 walks and 2 strikeouts. Matt Albers (4.31), David Hernandez (4.35), Koji Uehara (3.27), and Alfredo Simon (3.12) also pitched for the Orioles. With the win, Davis’s record goes to 7-9, while Tillman is at 1-4.

In addition to the 8 runs, the Rays scored 9 hits and committed no errors. Evan Longoria led the Rays in hitting with 3 hits, followed by Jason Bartlett’s 2 hits. Sean Rodriguez had a tough day at the plate, leaving 4 runners on base. The Orioles didn’t have anyone with a big night with not one batter getting more than 2 hits. Miguel Tejada could not get much going at the plate as he left 5 runners on base. The Orioles managed one run, 7 hits and no errors.

Umpiring duties were performed by Bill Miller, Mike Reilly, Chad Fairchild and Eric Cooper. There were 12,792 Orioles ticket holders in attendance at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
